Beaded Towel Ring

Add a bit of whimsy to your guest bath, or laundry room, with these colorful, beaded towel holders.

Supplies

Step 1

With the wire cutters, snip the metal ring at the seam. Have the 22 beads ready to thread onto the split metal ring.

Step 2

Prep your workstation, using plastic bin and plastic gloves. Prepare 3 cups of hot water to be mixed with dye. Depending on desired shade of color, use 2-3 tablespoons of dye mixed into the 3 cups of hot water Dip-test one bead to make sure the color saturation is to your liking. Thread the beads onto the ring. Dip the ring, with beads, into dye and make sure all beads are fully saturated, (20-30 seconds). Remove ring from dye, rinse with cold water, hang to dry for at least two hours.

Step 3

Take your piece of leather, measure and mark the desired length by .5" wide (we suggest 8" in length) Cut the leather with a scissor or Exacto knife, if using a blade make sure you have a cutting mat underneath to protect the table surface. On your desired length strip of leather, mark one-half inch from the end, in the middle of the of strip and use a leather punch tool or small awl to make a hole on each end - again, use a cutting mat underneath the leather.

Step 4

When the beads are dry, remove two beads. Thread one end of the leather strip onto the ring, slip one of the beads on also. Now, thread the other end of leather along with the other bead onto the other end of ring. Hot glue or superglue the two beads together, securing the ring.

Finishing Touches

Team up your towel holders with patterned guest/hand towels for a touch of color in your room!
